MOD11A1 - MODIS Land Surface Temperature Product

6/16/2009 - Peter and Karl meet re acquiring and projecting Sierra Nevada Data

  • Version 5 data seems to be complete (ie 2000 to 2009) on LPDAAC datapools (an ftp)
  • Data Size is 3 to 6 MB per granule. For Sierra, 3 granules, 9 years, 365 days = 30 to 60 GB
  • We are using 1km because this is the native resolution
  • Prior projection took 30 seconds. Assume swamped system takes 2 minutes per hdf file. 2 min, 9 years, 365 days
  • Projected data is similar in size so total disk space = 60 and 120 GB
  • Steps are 1) Catalog 2) Acquire 3) Project
  • Current problem with search for projection - Peter is debugging(done!!)
